KASHI Collection
Founder and Creative Director Sourena Ghaffari draws inspiration from the historic deep navy blues of Persian tiles. The rich history and symbolism of his native Iran continues to influence ABTANY designs, marrying Ghaffari’s cultural and artistic heritage with modern environmental ethics as each piece is made from recycled ocean waste and expertly crafted in Italy.

The navy hues are a striking and significant colour that hold symbolic meaning in Persian culture and have been used for centuries, often representing heaven, spirituality, and the divine. Ghaffari explores these rich shades with his signature hand painted designs, which were then developed through using a process of collaging and finally printed onto the ethically sourced fabric, resulting in a collection with unique and distinct character. These magical blue hue are universally flattering and designed to compliment any skin tone.
The term ‘KASHI’ translates to ‘tile’ in English, echoing the intricate design details seen on historical buildings in Iran. For Ghaffari, design is more than just an aesthetic pursuit, it is a deeply immersive process and a gesture toward his homeland. His creative process acts as a bridge, allowing him to inhabit a world he might otherwise be unable to engage with literally; a world he remains a part of, yet apart from indefinitely.
The swim shorts and complementing swim briefs are designed to be worn together or separately, offering the contemporary male traveller a complete swimwear wardrobe without compromising on style and comfort.
